Why the glasses?
Being short-sighted and very uncomfortable with the idea of putting things like contact lenses in my eyes, I'm pretty reliant on my glasses to function.
It's unsurprising then, that I've chosen them as an image that identifies me. However, when designing this site, I thought about what the image stood for and it's a lot more than just a visual identifier.
A parallel can be drawn between my glasses and my attitude towards web design. My glasses are the first thing I reach for in the morning and the last thing I take off before I go to sleep. The same can be said for my feelings about my chosen profession. Website design and development is something that stays at the forefront of my mind from the moment I wake until I get to bed in the evening.
Also, my attention to detail is completely reliant on my eyewear - without my glasses I wouldn't be able to ensure that everything was pixel perfect and blemish-free.
One final reason I chose the image - it's something that I created myself. This shows you that I'm capable of creating graphics for websites such as this. Something to remember when you're choosing the designer for your website.

About me
I've been working with websites for over 5 years and I like to think I've learned a thing or two in that time.
I have got a proven track record in creating attractive websites that meet usability and accessibility standards. And most importantly, I've got a flair for designing simple but intuitive sites that receive great feedback from users.
The technical bit: I'm proficient in HTML (including HTML5), CSS3 and jQuery. I've built sites from scratch and created wireframes and mock-ups for clients. I've also created sites in Wordpress that can be maintained by the client themself.
